Frequently Asked Questions About Academics

What is PEC Level-II Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Accreditation?

All undergraduate engineering programs at UET Taxila have received Level-II Outcome-Based Education (OBE) accreditation by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) (UG Prospectus 2025). PEC has been a full signatory of the Washington Accord since June 2017 and lists programs accredited at Level-II as substantially equivalent under the Accord.

How are course grades evaluated under Outcome-Based Education (OBE)?

Under Outcome-Based Education (OBE), courses define Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) mapped to Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs). Student performance is evaluated across continuous assessments, mid-semester examinations, and final comprehensive examinations in accordance with departmental OBE assessment rubrics and university semester regulations.

How do students borrow books from the Central Library Book Bank?

The Central Library provides a Book Bank consisting of faculty-recommended textbooks. Under Section 7.4 of the UG Prospectus 2025, every undergraduate student can check out (borrow) up to 8 textbooks for an academic session from this section.
